GRID Life Circuit Legends 2025 Friday
A long overdue blog post, but It's another huge event that I have always heard of but never got the chance to check out. We've had a few of these firsts on here. While, most of the previous events posted here, concentrated mainly on car shows and cruises, this event focuses mainly on the track. Some may hear "track" and think that this event is about circuit racing only. But, that's not the only action on track at GRID Life. Adding to the Circuit Racing, we have Drifting. Also, besides the on track activities, there will be Camping, Vendors and a Concours event in collaboration with PRIME NYC. GRID Life is not a 1-day event, but I was only able to make it to the Friday.
As I took this 2-hour drive up to Connecticut and got closer to Lime Rock Park, my cell phone service began to get shaky. As I parked, got my wrist band and I made my way into the event, I heard the sounds of engines roaring and found myself looking at cars going sideways, followed by clouds of smoke. Instant joy for anyone who enjoys watching cars in action.
While, there is a "Spectator Hill," where almost everyone will hang out, there are many other areas to witness the action on track.
Shooting here was a learning experience, with the cars moving, I had to put my pan shooting to the test. Showing up with a 50mm was not the best idea, but it's what I'm working with for the time being.
After all the walking around, it must be noted to bring something to move around Lime Rock Park with and a chair.
Not everyday I get to see a Ferrari....let alone, a Ferrari on TE37's.
Sunset drew closer, and even though the event was not over, it was my time to head home. Overall, I am glad I was able to check out GRID Life for the first time, and hope I will be able to make it to the next one at Lime Rock Park for the full event, party and Concours. Next time, I'll also be prepared with something to help move around with ease. Till, then, see you at the next event!
