For the creators of the world, it doesn't matter what you create, when everything flows, there's no stopping it. "An object in motion, stays in motion." You should take advantage of that momentum. That's what started Ptosis Clothing. After many years of photography on my phone and editing on Photoshop, then using filters through social media for posting online, there was still room for growth. Now, there is a new purpose in editing RAW photos from a DSLR camera. Correcting lighting, colors, completely change the mood of the photo and can tell a different story. After looking at some of the photos I've taken, some ideas popped into my head. After being inspired from some users on Instagram, I tried my hand at designing some poster-style automotive photos.
The thought popped into my head that maybe these car poster designs would look cool on a T-shirt. After some research, I was on the hunt to make it happen. I began looking at T-shirts, sweatshirts/hoodies, leggings, bikinis, anything! to throw my designs on. In a matter of a few weeks, I was printing samples of T-Shirts. Shortly after that...came exactly what you see before you - the shop and the website. Let's check some of the early designs.
One of my favorites - The Drive Your Car tee. It represents just that - a tee for the ones who drive their car like it's supposed to be driven! Oftentimes, we have seen many build their cars to very high standards, using genuine, quality, maybe even custom parts, only for these cars to sit in a garage. To be fair, residing in lower NY, it is a hard gamble to bring your hard earned money onto these rugged streets but this is a reminder to enjoy what you have built. As for the real driving enthusiasts of NY, you may recognize this road. Dare I hashtag, IYKYK?
The Ptosis Clothing tee, sweatshirt & hoodie with our slogan printed on the back just represents Ptosis Vision and Ptosis Clothing collectively. These tees are also available in a heavy, oversized option.
The NY Graffiti Skyline Tee. After editing this design, I felt as if it had a connection with New York in the 90's with it's high rise buildings covered in graffiti and warm tones. Now, to be completely honest with you...I did not grow up in NY in the 90's...not even close. BUT, I did listen to Nas' Illmatic and I just feel like that's what New York in the 90's was like (Haha). I think many can agree, that when the intro to that album starts to play, it paints your surroundings for you. You feel like you're there. And that's what this shirt represents. This tee is also available in a heavy, oversized option for a more streetwear feel, if you're into that.
The Stay Grounded Tee - The Subaru GR Hatchback has been a favorite to many and some even wished that Subaru considered creating another for their WRX/STI lines. The hatchback was used for the design but also adding some meaning, is the text - "Stay Grounded" & "Knowledge of Self". Staying grounded means you are in check with your emotions and do not let things easily affect your being. You are YOU and no one can take that from you. Also, as we move through life, as we gain experience, we realize everyone is dealt a different hand. Everyone has to play the game differently. Using your Knowledge of Self and understanding where you stand can help you even the playing field.
